#33 - 🔥 Happy New Code Year! No-code co-pilots are facing increasing challenges
Relying on ChatGPT to generate code for your no-code app can be risky, but co-pilots still have a long way to go as well.
Hello New Coders,
Happy New Year! I’ll keep this first weekly newsletter of 2025 brief. I want to share my thoughts on incorporating AI-generated code into no-code platforms.
Recently, I tested adding SQL queries in Xano, and I have to say, it was impressive. In some cases, using a plain SQL query was faster than relying on the visual interface to achieve the same result.
This brings me to my main point: the co-pilots within no-code tools need to be exceptionally good to prevent users from turning to code within their apps, even when visual features can accomplish the same tasks. This is a massive challenge for no-code platforms, and I’m excited to see how they evolve.
Personally, I still prefer using the native features of no-code platforms because they’re easier to maintain. However, this also means there’s an urgent need for co-pilots to improve quickly to stop users from defaulting to code combined with AI.
Wishing you all a great start to the new year!
